The Robert Dorsey Fund for the Future was created to assist in recruiting, retaining and graduating a broader diversity of students in the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management programs. Co-op opportunities are available for scholarship recipients. Graduating high school students who apply for admission to an appropriate engineering program at UC and submit all required documents by December 1st of their senior year will automatically be considered for this award. The scholarship is for first-year minority students who are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree and have an interest that aligns itself to complex commercial construction. The University works with the office of Financial Aid to determine if students have financial need before identifying recipients. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided you maintain good academic standing and an expressed interest in the construction industry. This scholarship was created with the intention of furthering the J. B. Speed School’s affirmative action goals at the University of Louisville. The scholarship will provide support for a student pursuing an undergraduate degree in either Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering at the Speed School. The scholarship will be awarded to African American or female students with a preference to those who graduate from public or private high schools in the Louisville metropolitan area.
